Before you begin

Save a copy of our existing rates 

Go to Site > Rates
Click on the download icon - this will download all of your existing rates.
Save a copy of these to your computer. This is an important step because whatever you upload will *replace* the rates that currently exist. It's a good idea to keep a copy in case you need to re-upload the existing rates for any reason.

Make changes to your rates

Depending on the nature and extensiveness of the edits, you can go about this two different ways:  Upload a spreadsheet or enter rates directly within VineSpring.

If you have quite a few changes to make (Example: You're updating all of your UPS rates for all Zones), it will be best to upload a spreadsheet.

If you have only a few rates to enter (Example:  You're updating UPS Ground rates just for one Zone), it may be easier to simply enter those within VineSpring directly.

Let's look at both:

Uploading a Spreadsheet

  1. Go to Site > Rates
  2. Click on the download icon - this will download all of your existing rates.
  3. Make edits directly on this spreadsheet. Note: Leave any rates that are *not* being edited, untouched. 
  4. If you are adding any new Plans, Methods or Zones, you must add these directly to VineSpring prior to uploading the spreadsheet. Note that Plans and Methods must match exactly what you have entered in VineSpring. (Example: If you create a new Method called, 'Fedex2Day', be sure your spreadsheet says 'Fedex2Day' and not 'Fedx2day'. These must match exactly or the upload will fail).
  5. Once your spreadsheet is complete, save as 'New' and then go back to Site > Rates.
  6. Click on the upload icon and upload the file.

NOTE: Whatever you upload will replace all rates that are currently in the system.

Entering rates directly within VineSpring

  1. Go to Site > Rates
  2. Use the Filters to isolate the rates you want to edit.
  3. Click the Go button and you'll land on an input screen.
  4. Edit the rates and Save.

Troubleshooting

Why doesn't my new method show up online as a shipping option?
This is due to one of two things:

Check your Display options

  1. Go to Site > Methods
  2. Click on the Method in question.
  3. Confirm that the Displayed (on website) option is checked.

Check that your Method has rates

  1. Go to Site > Rates
  2. Use the Filters to define the Method in question
  3. Click the Go button and see if rates are there. If there are no rates defined, you must enter at least one for it to display as an option. Note: Even 'Pickup at Winery' with a rate of zero, but have a rate entered. Here's what that looks like:

Why do I get an error message when I attempt to upload my rates?

  1. Did you add any extra columns to the upload template? If so, you will need to delete those prior to upload.
  2. Check that any new Methods or Plans match exactly what you have entered in VineSpring. (Example: If you create a new Method called, 'Fedex2Day', be sure your spreadsheet says 'Fedex2Day' and not 'Fedx2day'. These must match exactly or the upload will fail).
  3. Confirm that you do not have any blank cells in your spreadsheet.
